Overview
The SMS Logs show you every text message your business has sent through MotionOps, along with whether each one was delivered. It's the fastest way to confirm a customer got their proposal, invoice, or reminder. SMS Logs are available in the Web App.
When to Use This Feature
You sent a customer their invoice by text and want to confirm it was delivered.
A customer says they never got your "on my way" message and you need to check.
You want to review recent texts before following up with a client.
You're troubleshooting why a message didn't reach someone.
How to View Your SMS Logs
Click the gear icon in the top-right corner and select Business Settings.
In the left menu, under Business Configuration, click SMS.
Scroll to the SMS Logs section to see your most recent messages.
Click View Full History to see all your sent messages.
What Each Column Means
Each row in the log is one message sent to one recipient. The columns are:
Account — The customer account the message is tied to.
Contact — The name of the person who received the message.
Status — Whether the message was Delivered or Failed.
Recipient Number — The phone number the message was sent to.
Sent At — The date and time the message was sent.
Message — A preview of the message text.
Understanding Delivered vs. Failed
Delivered — The message was accepted for delivery to the recipient's phone.
Failed — The message could not be sent. Common reasons include a recipient who has opted out of texts, a missing or invalid phone number, or a recipient number that isn't part of your business.
Failed messages are still recorded so you have a complete history of every attempt.
Tips & Best Practices
Check the log right after sending something important. A quick look confirms a proposal or invoice text went through before you assume the customer has it.
Use Failed statuses as a follow-up cue. If a text failed, reach the customer another way — by email or a phone call.
Watch for repeat failures to the same number. That usually means the contact has opted out or the number on file is wrong.
Things to Know
SMS Logs are available in the Web App, in Business Settings under SMS.
The SMS section shows your most recent messages; View Full History opens your complete sending history.
Both automatic notifications and messages you send by hand appear in the log.
A failed message to an opted-out contact is expected behavior — see SMS Compliance & Best Practices.
Troubleshooting
A message shows as Failed. What happened?
The most common reasons are an opted-out recipient, a missing or invalid phone number, or a number that isn't tied to your business. Confirm the contact's number and that they haven't opted out.
I don't see a message I just sent.
The SMS section shows your most recent messages. Click View Full History to see everything, and refresh the page if it was sent moments ago.
I don't see any SMS Logs at all.
You won't see logs until your business is registered, has a dedicated number, and has sent at least one message. If setup isn't complete, see Register for SMS Texting.
