Note: Service Fees can only be passed for online payments with cards as payment methods. You must be onboarded and ready to process payments with MotionOps. Only United States customers are supported at the moment.

Overview

MotionOps offers an option to include a 3% service fee on all invoices sent to customers. Adding this fee helps ensure that your business doesn’t absorb processing costs, allowing you to avoid losing money on transaction fees.

Be sure to inform your customers about this fee in advance to maintain transparency and prevent any surprises. You have to be signed up for Payment Processing to be able to add this to all of your invoices.

Step-by-step guide

To add a 3% service fee to all invoices with MotionOps, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Business Settings (top right corner).

  2. Select Payment Settings from the list on the left.

Under Processing Options, check the box to apply the service fee to all invoices. (You can choose to disable this for specific invoices if needed.)

Adding the Service Fee to Individual Invoices

  1. Create or open the invoice you want to modify.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the invoice creation screen. You will see a spot that says Include a service fee for Credit Card payments. Make sure you have the check box next to that selected.

  3. Check the box labeled Include a service fee for Credit Card payments.

Remember to inform your customers about the service fee in advance to ensure transparency and avoid any surprises.
