In MotionOps, accounts represent customers or leads. Proposals, Invoices, and Work Orders are all associated with an account.

Overview

In the MotionOps App, you can easily view the client information, search and filter the account list, and add new accounts. Each account profile contains important information, such as:

  • Work Orders - Your job history for the customer

  • Proposals - Any pending and draft proposals you're preparing for the customer

  • Service Locations - A list of the customer service addresses and their properties

  • Contacts - A list of the key contact people for this customer

  • Private Notes - Important notes for this customer

  • Tags

  • Invoices

  • Account Manager - the key point of contact from your company

The feature of adding accounts may depend on your role and permissions. Please check with your business admin whether this is properly configured in case you don't see the Accounts in the bottom navigation.

Creating a new Account

You can watch a quick video on how to create an account, or scroll down for a step-by-step explainer.

1. To create an account, go to the Accounts page from the bottom navigation and click on the + icon in the top right corner of the app. This will open the Create Account page.

2. You can choose between Residential and Commercial. The commercial type will ask for the company name and email as additional information. You can also choose the account type, where the options are Customer for existing clients, and Lead in case it's a new potential job.

3. Add the contact information, and if you want to, you can add a service location right then and there. Just click on the Add Service Location button and start typing the address. MotionOps pulls the addresses from Google Maps and allows you to quickly select the address you want to pre-populate all the address fields.

4. If needed, you can add a separate Billing Address, or just leave the toggle Same as Service Location on.

5. Additionally, MotionOps allows you to set an Account Manager, who is the primary point of contact from your company to the client, set a Lead Source, add custom Tags, and input Private Notes for this account.

6. Confirm your inputs and click on Save. You'll be redirected to the Account Details page, where you can continue adding a new Proposal or an Invoice for this client.
