Change Orders are essential tools for contractors to manage modifications to work orders, ensuring that any adjustments to scope, costs, or schedules are formally documented and approved. They help maintain clarity and avoid disputes by providing a clear record of agreed changes.
MotionOps Mobile App streamlines this process, allowing you to handle Change Orders efficiently right from the job site. With the app, you can quickly create, review, and obtain customer approval for Change Orders, making project management smoother and more transparent.
Here's how to do it:
Access the Work Order: Pull up the Work Order you wish to modify either via the Work Order section or by clicking on the scheduled item.
View Proposal: On the Work Order Details page, locate and select the “View Proposal” button midway down the page.
Initiate Change Order: This will display the latest Proposal and any previous Change Orders. At the bottom, tap the green “Change Order” button.
Enter Details: On the Change Order page, input a title for the Change Order at the top, followed by a description underneath. Scroll down to adjust existing line items or add new ones as needed.
Save and Preview: Once all details are entered, select “Save and Preview” at the bottom of the screen. This will show you a preview of the Change Order.
Collect Approval: Review the Change Order with the customer. If they agree, tap “Collect Approval” to capture their signature, confirming their understanding and agreement to the changes.
Invoice: When invoicing the customer, the Proposal will include the latest version with the change order, ensuring you charge the correct amount.
By following these steps, you can manage Change Orders efficiently and maintain a clear, agreed-upon record of any modifications.
