Overview
Every main section of MotionOps — Accounts, Work Orders, Schedule, Invoices, Materials, and Team Members — has its own search bar and set of filters. You can search by name, phone, address, email, or contact, narrow your list down with one or more filters, and save your most-used filter combinations as presets for one-click access.
Presets appear as quick-access buttons at the top of the list, so your most common views are always within reach without reconfiguring filters each time.
When to Use This Feature
You want to pull up a specific customer quickly by name, phone number, or address.
You need to see all residential customers, or all leads in a specific service area, without scrolling through your full list.
You check the same filtered view regularly (e.g., "Commercial Customers") and want a one-click shortcut to it.
You want to filter work orders by status, invoices by payment state, or team members by role.
How to Search
Each section has a search bar at the top of the page. Click it and start typing — results update as you type.
On the Accounts page, you can search by:
Account name
Phone number
Service Address
Email
Contact name
Other sections search against the fields most relevant to them — for example, Work Orders searches by job name or customer, and Invoices searches by invoice number or customer, or other fields.
How to Use Filters
Navigate to the section you want to filter (e.g., Accounts).
Click Filters in the top right of the list to expand the filter panel.
Set your filter criteria. On the Accounts page, you can filter by:
Account Manager — Show only accounts assigned to a specific team member.
Service Area — Filter by the geographic area where service is performed.
Tags — Filter by any tags applied to accounts.
Lead Source — Show accounts from a specific referral or marketing source.
Type — Filter between Leads and Customers.
Entity Type — Filter between Residential and Commercial accounts.
The list below the filter panel updates automatically as you apply each filter. The number of active filters is shown as a badge on the Collapse button.
To clear all active filters, click Clear.
How to Save and Use Filter Presets
A preset saves your current filter combination as a named shortcut. Presets appear as buttons in the preset bar at the top of the list, so you can apply them in one click without reopening the filter panel.
Saving a New Preset
Open the filter panel and set the filters you want to save.
Click Save. A dialog will appear asking for a preset name.
Enter a name (e.g., "Residential Leads" or "Commercial Customers").
Toggle Show in preset bar on if you want this preset to appear as a quick-access button. Leave it off if you only want it accessible from the All Presets dropdown.
Click Save to confirm.
Updating an Existing Preset
Apply a preset by clicking it in the preset bar or selecting it from the All Presets dropdown.
Adjust the filter settings as needed.
Click Update to save the changes to that preset.
Managing Saved Presets
To edit or delete a preset you've already saved, click the All Presets dropdown and select Manage filters. From there, you can rename, update, or remove any saved preset.
Tips and Best Practices
Create presets for your most common views. If you start every morning by checking your open residential leads, save that filter as a preset. It takes 30 seconds to set up and saves time every day after.
Keep the preset bar to your most-used shortcuts. Too many buttons in the preset bar gets cluttered — use "Show in preset bar" selectively, and let less-frequent filters live in the All Presets dropdown instead.
Combine filters for precision. Filters stack — you can filter by Entity Type (Residential) and Lead Source (Referral) at the same time to get a very targeted list.
Use the search bar alongside filters. Filters narrow the category; search finds a specific record within it. Use both together for the fastest results.
Things to Know
Search and filters are available on Accounts, Work Orders, Schedule, Invoices, Materials, and Team Members. The available filter fields vary by section.
Presets are saved per section — a preset created in Accounts does not appear in Work Orders.
The active filter count is shown as a badge on the Collapse button so you can tell at a glance how many filters are currently applied.
Clicking Clear removes all active filters but does not delete saved presets.
