Managing Your MotionOps Subscription, Seats, and Billing

Your MotionOps plan, how users are counted and billed, changing plans, and what happens when you cancel.

Written by Nick Stanisavljevic

Overview

This article covers your own MotionOps bill - the plan you are on, how many users you are paying for, and how to change either.

It is not about invoicing your customers. For that, see Invoicing.

Understanding Plans and What's Included

MotionOps has multiple subscription plans, and some features are only available on higher tiers. Current plans are available on motionops.com/pricing

You can tell what is included in your current plan from the Business Settings sidebar. A lock icon next to a menu item means that feature is not on your plan. Opening it shows an Upgrade to Unlock screen with a See Pricing Plans button.

Where to Find Your Subscription and Billing

In the top right corner click on your avatar and choose Billing. This opens a secure billing portal in a new tab where you can manage your subscription settings.

If you don't see the Billing option, check with your Businss Admins, you may not have the required permissions to access it.

Things to Know

  • A lock icon in the Business Settings sidebar means the feature is not included in your current plan.

  • Only admins can access Business Settings.

  • Your MotionOps subscription is separate from payment processing. You can be subscribed without being approved for online payments, and processing fees are billed separately from your subscription.

  • You can earn credit toward MotionOps by referring other contractors. See Refer a Friend. [confirm: is the $150 paid as account credit or as cash? The referral article should be checked before this line goes out.]

Troubleshooting

There's a lock icon next to a feature I need.
That feature is not on your current plan. Click the menu item and then See Pricing Plans, or contact support about upgrading.

My bill changed and I don't know why.
The most likely cause is a change in your active user count. Adding or removing users in MotionOps can affect your billing and proration. If nothing changed, contact support for assistance.

I added a technician and want to know what it costs.

My payment failed and I've lost access.
[confirm: recovery process.]

I can't find billing anywhere in the app.
[confirm: correct answer. If billing is not self-serve, say so plainly and point to the right contact.]
